Iran’s Intelligence Ministry details counterintelligence masterstroke during Israeli-US war

Iran’s Intelligence Ministry has detailed its complex multi-pronged intelligence operations aimed at neutralizing enemies’ attempts at infiltration and subversion during the Israeli regime's and the US’s unprovoked war last month.

In a statement on Monday, the ministry cataloged its counterintelligence operations in the face of the warfare that saw the Israeli regime beginning to attack nuclear, military, and civilian targets across the country on June 13 and later soliciting American assistance.

The war lasted no more than 12 days, ending after the Islamic Republic’s defensive and retaliatory strikes compelled Tel Aviv to request a ceasefire.

The ministry described the war as a “full-scale, hybrid aggression” by the regime and the United States, backed by various adversarial groups, including terrorist outfits, as well as some European countries.

According to the ministry, the Zionist regime was aided in the war by “the Western intelligence-security NATO.”

The goal, it stated, went beyond delivering a military blow to the Islamic Republic, extending into efforts by the aggressors to overthrow the country’s Islamic establishment, disintegrate the country, and sow domestic destabilization.

However, the statement hailed that “not a single operation against the country’s security was realized,” attributing this to divine grace, the instructions issued by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and the nation’s insight.

Throughout the course of the aggression, it said, the enemy employed advanced satellite, cyber, tracking, surveillance, artificial intelligence, and social media technologies.

“The Ministry of Intelligence monitored and countered threats in these areas, preventing riots, provocations, and enemy infiltration,” the statement read.

According to the statement, the ministry resorted to conducting “extensive counter-espionage operations” throughout the occupied Palestinian territories against the Zionist regime as a means of countering its encroachments against the country.

Those collaborating with elements within the regime were identified, and some were arrested, it said, adding that the ministry also confronted agents enlisted by the regime’s Mossad agency, placed them under arrest and disrupted their operations.

Over all, as many as 20 Mossad-linked operatives were arrested across 13 provinces.

The ministry’s operatives further arrested three commanders and 50 members of Takfiri terrorist groups such as Daesh, who have been enlisted towards furthering the aggressors’ goals.

“Sabotage and terrorist plots were uncovered and neutralized both inside the country and along the borders,” it said, adding that plots aimed at ethnic division and separatism were also countered.

The aggressors had simultaneously sought to implement plots aimed at setting up a “puppet government” centered on Reza Pahlavi, the exiled son of Iran’s former tyrannical monarch -- who used to be backed by the US -- and Mossad agents, the statement added.

Those plots “were identified and disrupted” by the ministry, which dealt “significant blows” to the organizational networks of monarchist groups and their operatives besides successfully confronting cultist elements.

Still as part of its deterrent steps, the ministry successfully monitored and disrupted the enemy’s psychological operations across the cyberspace.

Those efforts led to arrest of the administrators of social media pages linked to espionage and foreign intelligence operations.

Adversaries had also directed cyber threats and sabotage efforts at the country’s information technology infrastructure, which were similarly scuttled.

The intelligence ministry’s operatives, meanwhile, monitored and discovered weapons stockpiles belonging to terrorist groups along the country’s borders.

Additionally, they prevented terrorists from transferring weapons into the Islamic Republic’s borders and deploying them in operations against the country.

Counterintelligence measures also led to discovery and foiling of the Israeli regime's terrorist plots to assassinate 23 Iranian authorities, along with 13 similar conspiracies in the months leading up to the war.

Overall, the efforts prevented assassinations of 35 senior civil and military officials.

IRGC Basij commander killed in terrorist attack in Iran’s Zahedan

A commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Basij force has been killed in a terrorist attack in Iran’s southeastern city of Zahedan.

The IRGC Ground Force’s regional Quds Base said in a statement on Monday that Javad Karim Koshteh, the commander of the Basij resistance base, was killed while on duty at Imam Hadi mosque in Zahedan’s Shirabad district on Sunday.

The commander was martyred a day after an attack by militants from the so-called Jaish al-Adl terrorist group on a courthouse in Zahedan killed six people, including a woman and a one-year-old child, and injured 23 others.

In April, the IRGC Ground Forces delivered a blow to the Jaish al-Adl terrorist group during an anti-terrorism military operation in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, killing a ringleader of the group.

Sistan and Baluchestan, which borders Pakistan, has witnessed several terrorist attacks targeting both civilians and security forces over the past years.

Terrorist groups carrying out attacks against Iranian interests in the southeastern and southwestern parts of the country are believed to be linked to foreign spy agencies.

Only 73 aid trucks entered Gaza amid worsening famine

Gaza’s Government Media Office (GMO) said that only 73 aid trucks entered the embattled enclave on Sunday, amid a deepening famine caused by long months of tight Israeli blockade.

In a statement on Sunday evening, GMO warned that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza reached unprecedented levels, with at least 133 people, including 87 children, reported dead from hunger.

“The famine is expanding at an alarming rate and now affecting the entire population of Gaza, including 1.1 million children,” GMO added.

“73 trucks carrying aid entered the north and south of the Gaza Strip, but most of them were looted and robbed in full view of the occupation army and its drones,” GMO said.

GMO accused the Israeli occupation army of clearly obstructing the movement of those aid trucks and preventing them from reaching distribution warehouses as part of its “policy of engineering chaos and starvation” in Gaza.

GMO noted that three aid airdrops were carried out over Gaza, but their total payload was equivalent to only two aid trucks.

Those drops landed in areas designated by the Israeli army as red combat zones, where civilians cannot safely enter to retrieve supplies, GMO added.

“What is happening is a farce,” GMO said, accusing the international community, especially major powers like the US, of complicity in the starvation of Gaza people through making false promises and giving misleading information.

“The radical solution lies solely in urgently opening the crossings of the Gaza Strip without preconditions, breaking the unjust siege on its population and immediately allowing in food and infant formula before it is too late,” GMO underlined.

Airdrops won’t stop Gaza starvation: Rights group slams Israel’s ‘genocide by hunger’

The Palestinian Center for Human Rights has condemned the airdropping of humanitarian aid into Gaza as a “deceptive and humiliating spectacle” that masks Israel’s deliberate use of starvation as a weapon of war.

In a statement issued Monday, the center rejected what it called a political and humanitarian cover for systematic starvation imposed by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF), describing the air drops as a “false display” meant to distract from the deepening famine and ongoing genocide in Gaza.

“Israel is not delivering aid, it is orchestrating a war of starvation at the highest political and military levels,” the center said, citing former Israeli war minister Yoav Galant’s infamous declaration early in the war: “No water, no food, no electricity, no fuel. All Palestinians are human animals.”

The center said the same IOF forces airdropping aid are also carrying out daily killings near distribution points, enforcing policies that deny over two million Palestinians access to food and essential supplies. It noted that nearly 60,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 144,000 injured since October 7, 2023 while starvation was officially imposed just days after the assault began.

Raji al-Sourani, director of the center, warned that airlifting food while keeping land crossings closed only further dehumanizes Gaza’s starving population. He called it a violation of International Court of Justice orders, which demand that Israel open crossings to allow unrestricted humanitarian aid.

“This is not humanitarian relief, it’s cover for war crimes,” he said.

The center highlighted that the air-dropped aid is not only insufficient but dangerous. Meager supplies dumped into overcrowded areas have triggered deadly stampedes, with 18 Palestinians killed during earlier drops.

According to the center, 1,132 Palestinians, including 87 children, have been martyred and over 7,500 injured while trying to access aid, turning supposed relief efforts into death traps.

The organization urged countries to stop participating in the air drop campaign, which it said only reinforces Israel’s genocide in Gaza and subjects civilians to further humiliation and risk. It called for immediate international action to open secure, unrestricted land crossings and allow the flow of adequate food, medicine, and fuel.

“Only by ending the siege, allowing safe passage, and halting Israeli attacks can Gaza’s famine be stopped,” the statement concluded.

Gaza: Hospitals receive 100 martyrs, death toll climbs to 59,921

During the past 24 hours, hospitals in the Gaza Strip received the bodies of at least 100 civilians, as well as 382 people suffering from different injuries following Israeli attacks, according to Gaza’s health ministry on Monday morning.

Accordingly, a total of 8,755 people have been killed and 33,192 others have been injured since the Israeli occupation army resumed its genocidal war on Gaza on March 18, 2025.

The new fatalities increased the death toll from the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, which started on October 7, 2023, to 59,921 martyrs, including 1,157 aid seekers who were killed at or near US-backed distribution points, the health ministry said.

The ministry added that the total number of the wounded also surged to 145,233 people, including 7,758 aid seekers.

The ministry also said that Gaza’s hospitals recorded 14 new fatalities in the past 24 hours due to starvation and malnutrition, bringing the death toll from the famine to 147 victims, including 88 children.

Meanwhile, efforts are underway to recover the bodies of more martyrs who are still missing in different areas of the Gaza Strip.

Starvation deaths in Gaza reach 147 as Israel blocks aid, including 88 children

Fourteen more Palestinians, including two children, have died from starvation and malnutrition in Gaza over the past 24 hours, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health on Monday. This brings the total number of starvation-related deaths in the Strip to 147, including 88 children.

In a brief statement, the ministry said the latest deaths occurred in Gaza hospitals amid worsening famine conditions, with some victims succumbing simply to exhaustion from prolonged hunger.

Since March 2, the Israeli occupation has sealed off Gaza’s border crossings, cutting off the entry of food, medicine, and humanitarian aid. The total blockade has triggered a catastrophic famine, which aid groups and UN agencies warn is spiraling further out of control.

The ongoing starvation crisis is part of Israel’s war of genocide against Gaza’s civilian population, which has already left tens of thousands martyred or wounded, and devastated the territory’s infrastructure.
