Day 435 of Israeli genocide in Gaza: 44,930 killed, 106,624 wounded

The Israeli occupation commits two massacres across the Gaza Strip in 24 hours, killing 55 Palestinians and injuring 170 others, according to the Ministry.

In the latest toll issued by the Ministry of Health in Gaza on day 435 of the ongoing genocide, the number of martyrs has reached 44,930, with 106,624 wounded since October 7, 2023.

The Israeli occupation committed two massacres across the Gaza Strip in 24 hours, killing 55 Palestinians and injuring 170 others, according to the Ministry.

While some of the victims were transported to the few partially functioning hospitals in the Strip, most of them remain trapped beneath the rubble, with almost impossible means to get out amid the continuous Israeli obstruction of rescue operations.

The Israeli genocide is ongoing

At least 10 people were killed, and many others were injured on Saturday in a harrowing massacre committed by Israeli forces, which targeted the Deir al-Balah municipality building in central Gaza.

According to local reports, Israeli airstrikes hit the municipality building, which was sheltering dozens of displaced individuals. The attack resulted in the killing of 10 people, including the mayor, and left dozens more wounded.

Emergency vehicles and ambulances transported the injured to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital amid scenes of chaos and devastation.

In a separate incident, one civilian was killed and several others wounded when Israeli forces bombed a group of people near the Abu Ataya roundabout, east of al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

Meanwhile, another tragedy unfolded in western Gaza City, where seven individuals were killed, and others injured in an Israeli strike on a school sheltering displaced families.

Local sources confirmed that Israeli warplanes bombed the Majida Wasila School in the al-Rimal neighborhood, killing seven people and injuring many more, mostly women and children.

Elsewhere, Israeli naval forces shelled forcibly displaced individuals west of the al-Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, killing one person and injuring another.

In southern Gaza, five people sustained injuries when an Israeli Quadcopter dropped bombs in the al-Mawasi area, west of Rafah.

Israeli airstrikes devastate Gaza, leaving death in their wake

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) have intensified their assault on Gaza, with heavy artillery and airstrikes targeting residential areas.

Early on Saturday, Israeli artillery struck northwest of the al-Nuseirat camp, while helicopters fired at northern Gaza.

Aerial bombardments hit the al-Karama neighborhood, and a deadly airstrike on a home in Jabalia left several dead and wounded.

In a related development, the IOF issued evacuation orders for southeastern Jabalia and carried out further strikes in Gaza City and Beit Lahia, demolishing homes and continuing to target civilians across the region.

Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have killed four people and injured eight others, with attacks on homes and gatherings in Gaza City.

In al-Zaytoun neighborhood, three people were killed and five injured in a bombing. Additionally, one Palestinian was killed and three were wounded in the al-Sabra area.

Israeli occupation forces also torched an ambulance and destroyed nearby homes near the Kamal Adwan Hospital. Meanwhile, severe storms with strong winds and rain caused significant damage, forcibly displacing many people, particularly along Gaza's coastline.

Israel kills 50 across Gaza in one day; UNICEF decries massacre of 14,500-plus children

The Israeli military’s attacks across various parts of the Gaza Strip have claimed the lives of at least 50 Palestinians throughout the past 24 hours.

The fatalities were caused on Saturday, including 10 who perished during Israeli aggression against residential buildings in Gaza City.

Five more were also killed as a result of Israeli aggression against a house at the al-Bureij Refugee Camp in the central part of the coastal sliver, including a journalist and his family members.

Gaza’s Civil Defense, meanwhile, reported that at least 90 of its members had been killed since last October, when the regime brought the entire territory under a war of genocide.

Later, Israeli warplanes struck the tents belonging to displaced Palestinians at the al-Dorra Stadium west of the city of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, causing extensive destruction and wounding a number of people.

More than 44,900 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have lost their lives as a result of the war that began after Gaza’s resistance movements staged a retaliatory operation against the occupied Palestinian territories in response to decades of deadly Israeli occupation and aggression.

Also on Saturday, Catherine Russell, executive director at UNICEF, the United Nations agency for children, reminded that the deaths included more than 14,500 children.

She called for urgent global action to halt the daily suffering of the minors, who continued to face bloodshed, hunger, disease, and cold amid the genocide.

Russell stated that the world remained indifferent, while Gaza's children were daily victims of violence and deprivation.

The UN official called on the Israeli regime and “those with influence” over it to “take decisive action to end the suffering of children…to ensure children’s rights are upheld, and to adhere to obligations under international humanitarian law.”

She particularly referred to the Israeli attacks on the Nuseirat Refugee Camp in central Gaza on Thursday, which pushed the number of children killed in Gaza in the past month to over 160, averaging four children per day.

The official also stressed that the threat of famine remained severe in northern Gaza, where the regime has markedly intensified its campaign of deadly occupation and siege over the past 71 days,

  • Abu Obeida: Israeli Army bombed captives repeatedly to ensure they were killed

The military spokesperson for the al-Qassam Brigades says the group has intel that the IOF deliberately and repeatedly bombed a location housing captives knowing they were inside.

Abu Obeida, the military spokesperson for the al-Qassam Brigades, accused the Israeli military of deliberately and repeatedly targeting a location where Israeli captives were being held.

In a post on Telegram, he said, "The occupation army recently targeted a location where some enemy captives were held, bombing it multiple times to ensure that they were killed," stressing that the Resistance group has "intelligence confirming that the enemy deliberately targeted the location with the intent to kill the captives and their guards."

According to the spokesperson, the al-Qassam Brigades freedom fighters launched a search and rescue operation to attempt to retrieve survivors, However, only one captive was successfully retrieved, but his "fate remains unknown."

A few moments after Abu Obeida's post, the al-Qassam Brigades released a video captioned "Netanyahu and Halevi are seeking to get rid of their captives in Gaza by all means."

The footage shows a captive, with blood on their body, struggling to move amid the rubble most probably caused by the bombing Abu Obeida mentioned in his post.

'I am dying little by little', Israeli captive says in new Hamas video

Earlier this month, on December 7, the Military Media of the al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas Resistance movement, released a video showing an Israeli captive held in Gaza, addressing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in yet another message demanding the establishment of an immediate captive agreement.

By the time of the video release, Matan Zangauker had been held in Gaza for 420 days, grappling with the deteriorating situation and a worsening health state, fearing for his and his friends' lives, as "Israel" continues its ceaseless onslaught on the Strip.

In the video, Zangauker addresses Netanyahu directly, accusing him of failing the captives and making mistakes, the price for which is being paid by the captives.

"I am dying little by little, and every part of me dies... We live with little food, and undrinkable water, and little medicine," he said, further expanding on their deteriorating health state as a result of poor hygiene, or the lack thereof, which has caused skin diseases and irritation.

He also rallied Israeli settlers against Netanyahu, accusing him and the government of neglecting captives and jeopardizing their lives by calling for demonstrations. According to the captive, "[Netanyahu] and his family suffering like us is more like it."

Israeli media reported that Hamas' release of the video comes after "Israel's" intention to strike a partial deal that leaves some captives, including soldiers, behind.

Al-Qassam Brigades announces death of Israeli captive

Late last month, the al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced the death of an Israeli captive held in northern Gaza.

Spokesperson Abu Obeida confirmed the captive's death by Israeli bombardment and issued a stern warning to the Israeli leadership regarding the fate of other captives amid the relentless aggression.

"The enemy must prepare to face the dilemma of the disappearance of the dead prisoners' bodies," Abu Obeida stated, attributing the incident to the extensive destruction caused by Israeli aggression and the martyrdom of Palestinian captors.

Abu Obeida further revealed that communication had recently been reestablished with the al-Qassam fighters assigned to protect the captives, revealing that one female captive was killed in an area under heavy Zionist aggression while another captive remains in imminent danger.

"After the restoration of the communication that had been cut off for weeks with the fighters tasked with guarding the enemy's prisoners, it turned out that one of the enemy's female prisoners was killed in an area that is under a Zionist aggression in the northern Gaza Strip, while the danger still threatens the life of another (female) prisoner who was with her," Abu Obeida said at the time.

Hezbollah chief: Israel long sought to eradicate resistance, but to no avail

The secretary-general of the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement says the occupying Israeli regime has long been seeking the eradication of the resistance front through various atrocious campaigns, but has dismally failed to attain the objective.

Sheikh Naim Qassem made the remarks in a televised speech on Saturday evening, noting that “the Zionist enemy seeks to exterminate any form of resistance that confronts its expansionist ambitions across the region."Sheikh Naim Qassem

“Israeli atrocities aimed at elimination of the resistance front have been unsuccessful, substantiating the fact that such brutalities could not be viewed as achievement at all,” he added.

He noted that Hezbollah's retaliatory rocket and drone attacks on illegal Israeli settlements in the northern parts of the occupied territories drove tens of thousands of residents to seek refuge in shelters. “The only pain they (the Israeli regime) could inflict upon us was the targeted killing of our leaders.”

Sheikh Qassem went on to highlight that Hezbollah anticipated the Israeli military aggression on Lebanon both before and after the surprise and large-scale operation by Gaza-based resistance groups, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, against the Zionist entity on October 7 last year, but did not know about the exact timing.

“The key factors behind our victory were the steadfastness of resistance fighters, and the sacrifices made through the blood of martyrs. Surrender and humiliation have no place in our lexicon as Hezbollah’s resistance is fierce and spirited,” he said.

The Hezbollah chief stated that the Lebanese resistance movement made big sacrifices in standing firm against the Israeli regime, adding that Israeli-occupied Lebanese territories could be liberated only by means of resistance.

Sheikh Qassem also noted that the Israeli military would have captured the Lebanese capital Beirut if it were not for the sacrifices of Hezbollah fighters.

Elsewhere in his speech, the Hezbollah chief pointed to the ceasefire between Israel and the Lebanese group, stating that the agreement rather ended fighting between the Israeli military and Hezbollah forces for the time being; but not the struggle against the Israeli occupation.

Sheikh Qassem underscored that methods and means of resistance can vary interchangeably, adding that the resistance front will come out victorious in the face of Israel despite losses it has endured.

“The future of resistance requires that we confront our enemies through mass mobilization, strength and unwavering determination," he said.

“The Israeli enemy’s goal is to subjugate the entire region, just as it attempted in Gaza and Syria. We are facing an expansionist enemy that has seized hundreds of kilometers, including the occupied Golan Heights,” the Hezbollah leader added.

He stressed that the Lebanese army has made great sacrifices, losing dozens of its soldiers to protect the Arab nation’s sovereignty.

“Hezbollah remains strong, and continues to thrive despite challenges and difficulties. Hezbollah is steadfast and recovering quickly. Those who anticipated its collapse have been bitterly disappointed."

“We will actively participate alongside state institutions in the reconstruction of Lebanon, and will work seriously to elect a new president,” Sheikh Qassem said.

Turning to Syria, he stated that Hezbollah supported the country because it consistently stood in opposition to Israeli plots.

“Now that the government of Bashar al-Assad has fallen, we wait for the formation of a new administration to determine its position and direction. We hope that the new leadership in Syria would further foster cooperation between Syrian and Lebanese nations and governments on the basis of equality and mutual respect," he said.

He also expected Syria's interim government to view Israel as an enemy, and refrain from normalization of diplomatic ties with the Tel Aviv regime.

“We do not believe that the ongoing developments in Syria will have any significant impact on Lebanon,” Sheikh Qassem concluded.
