Hezbollah announces martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
In a statement released just shortly ago, Hezbollah announced the martyrdom of Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah following years of sacrifice on the path of Resistance against the usurping Israeli entity.
Hezbollah has released a statement announcing the martyrdom of its Secretary-General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
The Islamic Resistance began its statement with the verse: Let those fight in the way of Allah, who sell the life of this world for the Hereafter; and whoever fights in the way of Allah, and then is slain, or he subdues [the enemy], soon We shall give him a great reward. [Surah al-Nisa', verse 74]
"His eminence, the leader of the Resistance, the pious servant of God, has passed on to God as a great leader, a brave martyr, joining the martyrs of Karbala...on the path of prophets," the statement read.
"Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, joined his great, eternal companions, whose journey he led for over 30 years through victory after victory" after succeeding Sayyed Abbas al-Mousawi in 1992, leading them in "the liberation of Lebanon in 2000 and the Divine Victory of 2006," and up to the battle of support for Palestine and the oppressed people of Palestine.
Hezbollah extended its condolences to the Islamic nation and the steadfast people of Lebanon, and all the free and oppressed people of the world, congratulating Sayyed Hassan on achieving the greatest of divine gifts, through which he was granted his greatest wish, that of a martyr on the path to Palestine and al-Quds.
The Islamic Resistance also congratulated his fellow martyrs who joined him in martyrdom following the Israeli aggression on the Southern Suburb of Beirut.
In the statement, Hezbollah's leadership promised Sayyed Nasrallah, "our greatest, holiest, and most beloved leader in our path filled with martyrs and sacrifice, to continue its struggle against the enemy, in support of Gaza and Palestine, and in defense of Lebanon and its honorable, resilient people."
The Islamic Resistance concluded its statement by addressing the freedom fighters of the Resistance, "you who were his trusted shield...our leader the Sayyed still lives among us through his thought, spirit, and his holy path."
Friday's attack on Southern Surbub of Beirut
"Israel" launched massive strikes on Friday, targeting residential neighborhoods in the Southern Suburb of Beirut.
Six buildings were razed to the ground as a result of the Israeli aggression, as Israeli media reported that 2,000 tons of explosives were dropped on the neighborhood of Haret Hreik in the assault.
The IOF announced that the goal of the attack was the assassination of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and Israeli Army Radio pointed out that F-35 aircraft carried out the airstrikes using bunker-buster bombs.
Biden calls death of Hezbollah leader a ‘measure of justice’
by Steff Danielle Thomas - 09/28/24 12:59 PM ET
President Bidenᅠissued a statement Saturday calling the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed a day before in an Israeli strike on Lebanon’s capital city, a “measure of justice.”
“Hassan Nasrallahᅠand the terrorist group he led, Hezbollah, were responsible for killing hundreds of Americans over a four-decade reign of terror,” Biden wrote in a statement Saturday. “His death from an Israeli airstrike is a measure of justice for his many victims, including thousands of Americans, Israelis, and Lebanese civilians.”
“The strike that killed Nasrallah took place in the broader context of the conflict that began with Hamas’s massacre on October 7, 2023,” he added. “Nasrallah, the next day, made the fateful decision to join hands with Hamas and open what he called a ‘northern front’ against Israel.”
His comments come after Hezbollah confirmed early Saturday that Nasrallah was killed in an Israeli strike on the Lebanese militant group’s headquarters in Beirut. The president also reiterated the U.S. support for Israel amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
“The United States fully supports Israel’s right to defend itself against Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis, and any other Iranian-supported terrorist groups,” he wrote, while referencing a new agreement between the U.S. and Israel for an $8.7 billion aid package to “reduce the risk of a broader regional war.”
Israel’s two-day bombing campaign in recent days has killed more than 500 people. The latest strike also comes after the Israeli military was accused of detonating pagers and walkie-talkies used by the groups’ fighters, which killed at least 37 people in Lebanon, injured thousands and sparked fear that a wider war is inevitable.
Yeni Safak – September 28, 2024
5 days of bombing: 783 killed in Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon
Over 2,300 injured in Israeli bombing of Lebanon since Sept. 23, according to official sources
A total of 783 people have been killed and approximately 2,312 injured in Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon since Sept. 23, bringing the death toll since the beginning of the confrontations between Israel and Hezbollah last October to 1,622, with 5,549 people injured, according to official Lebanese sources.
Between Monday and Tuesday, Israeli strikes killed 558 people and wounded 1,835 others.
On Wednesday, another 51 people were killed, and 223 injured. Thursday saw 92 deaths and 153 injuries.
Between Friday and Saturday morning, 82 people were killed and 101 injured in various Israeli strikes across Lebanon.
In total, 783 people, including women and children, have been killed in Lebanon since Monday, with an additional 2,312 wounded.
The Israeli bombardment has also displaced 98,800 people, according to the Lebanese government's Disaster Risk Management Unit.
Since Monday, the Israeli army has launched its "most intense and wide-reaching" assault on Lebanon since its confrontations with Hezbollah began about a year ago.
In response, Hezbollah has fired hundreds of rockets at Israeli military sites, settlements, and even the Mossad headquarters in Tel Aviv, with a strict blackout on Israeli casualties and damage, according to observers.
Earlier in a statement on Saturday, the Israeli army claimed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was “liquidated” during an operation targeting the central command of Hezbollah located beneath a residential building in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
Hezbollah and Israel have been engaged in cross-border warfare since the start of Israel's onslaught on the Gaza Strip, which has killed nearly 41,600 victims, mostly women and children, following a cross-border attack by Hamas last Oct. 7.
The international community has warned against the strikes on Lebanon, as they raise the specter of turning the Gaza conflict into a regional war.
Profile: How Nasrallah rose through ranks to become Axis of Resistance backbone
By Maryam Qarehgozlou
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the Secretary-General of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, a visionary leader and a backbone of the Axis of Resistance, was assassinated in a massive Israeli attack in the southern suburbs of Beirut on Friday.
Israeli airstrikes on the Haret Hreik neighborhood, the main stronghold of Hezbollah in southern Beirut, leveled several residential buildings, with hundreds of civilians, including children, feared dead.
In a statement on Saturday, Hezbollah confirmed the martyrdom of Nasrallah, describing him as “an outstanding, courageous, wise, and insightful leader”, who joined his “great and immortal martyr comrades.”
“The leadership of Hezbollah vows to the highest, most sacred, and dearest martyr in our journey filled with sacrifices and martyrs to continue its struggle against the enemy, supporting Gaza and Palestine, and defending Lebanon and its steadfast, honorable people,” read the statement.
The Israeli regime has intensified its aggression against Lebanon since last week, which has led to the killing of more than 720 people, including dozens of women and children, since Monday.
The recent escalation came after nearly a year of Hezbollah operations in solidarity with the Palestinian nation and the Palestinian resistance as the death toll in Gaza has crossed the 41,500 mark.
Hezbollah has carried out near-daily operations in support of Palestinians in Gaza since October 8, 2023, only a day after Israel unleashed its genocidal war on the besieged Palestinian territory.
Nasrallah’s ironclad commitment to resistance against Israeli aggression and his unwavering support of the Palestinian cause made him a popular and loved figure in the Axis of Resistance.
A young man with big ambitions
Sayyad Hassan Nasrallah was born on August 31, 1960, in the eastern suburbs of Beirut, in the Matn district. He grew up in a poor Shia family and was displaced to southern Lebanon during his childhood.
Despite these challenges, Nasrallah was a motivated and devout student of Islam, and in 1975 he went to study theology at Ayatollah Mohammad Baqir al-Sadr’s Seminary in Najaf, Iraq, at the age of 16.
Al-Sadr, a prominent Islamic scholar, is said to have recognized Nasrallah’s qualities and is quoted as saying: “I feel in you the aroma of leadership; you are one of the Ansar [followers] of the Mahdi [Shia’s last of the Twelve Imams]....”
In 1979, the young Nasrallah joined the Amal Movement, a Lebanese Shia political group. However, owing to some differences, he left the group in 1982 to join the nascent Hezbollah movement.
Nasrallah quickly rose through the ranks of the popular resistance movement, becoming a key military commander during the Israeli occupation of Lebanon in the 1980s.
In 1985, Nasrallah took on the role of deputy head of the region within Hezbollah.
Later, he was promoted to the position of chief executive, which involved carrying out the decisions made by the organization’s Shura Council, the governing body responsible for making strategic decisions and formulating policies for the group.
As chief executive, he was responsible for ensuring that the group’s decisions were implemented effectively, and for managing the day-to-day operations of the movement.
He played a key role in the resistance against the Israeli occupation regime, and his strategic acumen earned him the respect and admiration of his fellow fighters and commanders.
Nasrallah’s steady rise to this position was a testament to his leadership skills and his commitment to the group’s goals and values.
He was seen as a trusted and capable leader who could navigate complex political and military situations.
His appointment as chief executive of Hezbollah was a significant milestone in his career and set the stage for his eventual rise to the position of Secretary-General.
Successor to Abbas Musawi
In 1992, Abbas al-Musawi, the Lebanese Shia cleric and the co-founder of Hezbollah, who served as the group’s Secretary-General, was assassinated by the Israeli regime.
Nasrallah succeeded him as the leader of Hezbollah on February 16, 1992, a position he held until his martyrdom on Friday.
Under his inspiring and able leadership, Hezbollah grew into a powerful political and military force in the region, with a strong base of support among Lebanon’s Muslim and non-Muslim communities alike.
After he was appointed the Hezbollah leader, he immediately set about reshaping the organization’s strategy and tactics in response to changing political and military realities.
Under Nasrallah’s leadership, Hezbollah launched a series of highly effective operations against Israeli forces in southern Lebanon, which were designed to make the occupation of southern areas untenable for Israeli forces, and ultimately succeeded in achieving their goal.
In 2000, after nearly two decades of struggle, Israeli forces finally withdrew from southern Lebanon, marking a major victory for Hezbollah and the broader resistance movement in the region.
Nasrallah played a key role in this victory, both through his leadership of Hezbollah’s military operations and through his political skills in negotiating with the Lebanese government and other regional actors.
In 2004, Nasrallah played a pivotal role in negotiating a major prisoner exchange between the Israeli regime and Hezbollah, which resulted in the release of hundreds of Lebanese and Palestinian prisoners held illegally by Israel.
The 2004 prisoner exchange further cemented his reputation as a skilled diplomat.
The exchange was also significant for Nasrallah on a personal level, as it resulted in the return of the remains of his son, who had been killed by Israeli forces in 1997.
The return of his son’s remains was a powerful symbol of Nasrallah’s dedication to the cause of resistance, and his willingness to make personal sacrifices for the sake of his people.
Nasrallah’s leadership during the 33-day Lebanon War in 2006 further solidified his reputation as the “leader of the resistance” both within Lebanon and across the broader Arab and Islamic world.
Throughout the war, Hezbollah was able to hold the line against a massive Israeli military onslaught and emerged victorious with its reputation greatly enhanced.
The group’s ability to withstand Israeli air strikes and ground offensives, and to continue launching rockets and missiles into Israeli-occupied territories, demonstrated its tremendous military prowess and its commitment to the cause of resistance against the Zionist occupation.
A man of strong alliances
Nasrallah was particularly instrumental in building alliances with other regional actors, including Iran and Syria, and in coordinating resistance efforts against the Tel Aviv regime.
Nasrallah was a vocal supporter of Syria, particularly the government of President Bashar al-Assad, during the country’s civil war which began in 2011, opposing West-backed attempts to undermine the Assad government through mercenaries and terrorists.
Hezbollah fighters have been actively involved in the Arab country, fighting alongside Syrian government forces against US-backed terrorist groups to prevent the spread of extremist groups in the region.
Nasrallah was also known for his eloquence and charisma as a public speaker.
His speeches have inspired millions of people across the region, and his message of resistance and self-determination has resonated with oppressed people around the world, including Palestinians.
Despite numerous attempts to assassinate him and undermine his leadership, Nasrallah remained steadfast in his commitment to the cause of justice and liberation.
His leadership has been critical in defending Lebanon’s sovereignty and dignity, and in inspiring a new generation of resistance fighters.
With the beginning of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza last year in October, he declared the opening of a “front in southern Lebanon to support Palestinian resistance.”
Unwaveringly committed to this cause, he vowed in numerous speeches that this front would tirelessly persevere until the devastating war on Gaza ended.
Nasrallah was a true hero of the Axis of Resistance, and his legacy will continue to inspire and guide future generations in their struggle for justice and liberation.

Hamas: US bears the responsibility for Zionist terrorism
The Islamic Resistance Movement - Hamas mourned Sayyed Nasrallah and his fellow comrades who were martyred in the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood, saying that "they fought on the path to al-Quds and in support of the steadfast Palestinian people."
"We extend our heartfelt condolences, solidarity, and sympathy to the Lebanese people, our brothers in Hezbollah, and the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon," a statement released on Saturday read.
Hamas underlined that the Israeli regime committed a "cowardly terrorist act and a heinous massacre," when it carpet bombed the suburb of Lebanon's capital, Beirut.
"[The Israeli regime] remains a rogue entity, showing blatant disregard for all values, norms, and international conventions, threatening global peace and security amid international silence, impotence, and complicity," Hamas underlined.
Hamas stressed that the US administration also "bears responsibility" for the heinous crime, pointing out its "continued political, diplomatic, military, security, and intelligence support" for the Israeli regime.
A light that will pave the way for the region's people
The movement recalled the leader's "lifetime of sacrifice for the liberation of al-Quds and the sacred al-Aqsa Mosque," his "honorable stances in support of the Palestinian people," and his "unwavering commitment to the continued backing" of Palestinians and their Resistance, especially in the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood.
The Palestinian Resistance faction reaffirmed its "absolute solidarity" with Hezbollah, stressing that it stands united with Lebanese Resistance fighters.
"[The pure blood of martyrs in Lebanon and Palestine] is the light that will pave the way for our people and Resistance, who know no defeat or surrender," Hamas underscored.
Al-Qassam Brigades: Sayyed Nasrallah offered his life in sacrifice to al-Aqsa Mosque
In a separate statement, Hamas' military wing, al-Qassam Brigades, noted martyr Sayyed Nasrallah's role in developing relations between the Resistance in Lebanon and in Palestine.
"He firmly rejected any cessation of support for Gaza, despite the immense sacrifices made by Lebanon and Hezbollah, including their fighters and leaders," al-Qassam Brigades stressed.
"This commitment culminated in him offering his life as a sacrifice for Al-Aqsa, intertwining his blood with that of the martyrs of Palestine and their heroic leaders," Hamas' military wing underlined, adding that such actions exemplified the highest form of solidarity with the Palestinian Resistance.
PIJ: We take pride in the legacy left behind by the towering Resistance figure
"With pride, honor, and full acceptance of God's decree, and with complete trust in God's promise to grant victory to his faithful servants, we mourn to our dear Palestinian people, and to the Arab and Islamic nation, the martyrdom of the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah," the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) movement said.
The movement explained that despite the feelings of "pain and bitterness" resulting from the "loss of a towering Arab and Islamic Resistance figure," the PIJ takes great pride in the legacy left behind by martyr Sayyed Nasrallah.
Hezbollah's martyred Secretary-General left behind "tens of thousands of fighters, cadres, and leaders," who were brought up "on his path, on the path of martyrdom and Palestine."
The movement said that Sayyed Nasrallah never backed out of supporting and aiding the Palestinian people, "a stance rarely seen," it highlighted.
Just like the martyrdom of leaders before him, the PIJ said that Sayyed Nasrallah's martyrdom would add to the "resolve and determination" of the Resistance.
"The Resistance forces in Lebanon, Palestine, and the entire region will make the enemy pay the price for its crimes and taste defeat as a result of its sinful actions, sooner rather than later," it stressed.
PFLP: Sayyed of martyrs, an inspiration to an entire generation
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) echoed the sentiments of fellow Resistance factions, mourning the "Sayyed [Master] of Martyrs and the inspiration of an entire generation, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, 'Abu Hadi'."
It is worth noting that Sayyed Nasrallah's eldest son, Hadi, was martyred during a fierce battle with Israeli occupation forces in Iqlim al-Tuffah, in then-occupied South Lebanon, on September 12, 1997.
The PFLP said that Sayyed Nasrallah was martyred in a "cowardly Zionist assassination ploy," which was "coordinated and planned with the criminal American enemy."
"Palestine, Lebanon, the entire nation, and the global liberation movement have lost an exceptional leader and a symbol of Arab and revolutionary resistance worldwide," the PFLP statement read.
Expressing its deep solidarity with Hezbollah, the Lebanese people, and the Axis of Resistance, the Front said that Sayyed Nasrallah's martyrdom "marks the beginning of a new phase for the Resistance."
It explained that this phase will see a Resistance force "stronger and more determined" to continue Sayyed Nasrallah's path.
"His clear imprint can be seen in the victories of the Lebanese Resistance, especially the July 2006 victory and the expulsion of the Zionist occupation from southern Lebanon in 2000," the PFLP recalled.
The front pledged to the martyred leader that the response to his assassination would "match the magnitude of the crime itself."
Abu Ali Mustapha Brigades:
In a statement issued during this "critical juncture" in the ongoing battle, the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the PFLP's military wing, vowed to continue its Resistance against the "treacherous and cowardly" Israeli enemy, emphasizing that the recent attacks will only strengthen their resolve.
"The enemy is mistaken if they believe our defenses have collapsed. Our fortifications remain strong, upheld by the determination and resilience of our people and Resistance forces," the statement emphasized.
The Brigades also extended its solidarity to the Lebanese people, specifically praising Hezbollah's leadership, fighters, and supporters.
"We salute the souls of those whose sacrifices have lit the way to freedom and independence, paving the path to al-Quds," the statement read. The group reiterated their commitment to armed resistance, stating that the struggle will continue until "freedom is achieved and the occupation is expelled."
PFLP-GC Secretary General: The end of the Israeli regime is near
Talal Naji, Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - General Command (PFLP-GC), expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of martyr Sayyed Nasrallah, describing the pain as "immense" for the loss of the Resistance leader.
Naji stressed that those who believe Nasrallah’s martyrdom signifies his defeat are mistaken, emphasizing, "Those who knew him closely understand that he always sought martyrdom."
He affirmed that Hezbollah’s fighters, whom Sayyed Nasrallah nurtured and trained, will continue along his path. He also reiterated the steadfastness of the Axis of Resistance, noting that Sayyed Nasrallah believed the end of the "usurping entity" was near.
PRC: A blazing torch lighting the path to liberation
The Palestinian Resistance Committees and their military wing, the Al-Nasser Salah al-Din Brigades, also mourned Hezbollah Secretary-General martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
They described Sayyed Nasrallah as the "jewel and crown of the Resistance" and a beacon guiding the path to liberation. His martyrdom, the committees stated, places him alongside other great martyrs lighting the way toward freedom.
The committees emphasized that Sayyed Nasrallah’s martyrdom will ignite the flame of "holy revenge" on the walls of al-Quds, a city he tirelessly worked to liberate from Israeli occupation. They extended condolences to the Lebanese people, the Islamic Resistance in Hezbollah, and all freedom fighters for the loss of a leader who was steadfast in his promise to stand by Gaza.
Reflecting on decades of Resistance, the committees reiterated that assassinations by the Israeli enemy have never resolved battles or led to strategic victories. Instead, they inspire greater determination among fighters to continue the struggle. The martyrdom of Sayyed Nasrallah, they affirmed, solidifies the righteousness of the resistance’s path and the deep commitment to sacrifice.
Al-Mujahideen Movement pledges continued Resistance
The Palestinian al-Mujahideen Movement expressed deep sorrow and solidarity following the assassination of martyr Sayyed Nasrallah in an Israeli raid on Beirut's Southern Suburb.
The movement extended condolences to Hezbollah, the Lebanese people, and Resistance supporters worldwide. It emphasized that Sayyed Nasrallah's martyrdom, along with other Hezbollah fighters, reinforces the unity of the Resistance and highlights the shared destiny of defending al-Quds and supporting the Palestinian cause.
Praising Hezbollah's unwavering support for Palestine, the statement commended the leadership and sacrifices of the group's fighters, who have stood firm against Israeli aggression and regional conspiracies.
The al-Mujahideen Movement vowed that "Israel" would face severe consequences for its continued crimes against Palestinians, the Lebanese, and the wider region. They affirmed that the blood of the martyrs, including Sayyed Nasrallah’s, would strengthen the Resistance and hasten the end of the Israeli occupation.
PLO
The leadership of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) factions in Lebanon also mourned the martyrdom of Sayyed Nasrallah. The PLO factions strongly condemned the attack, accusing "Israel", which enjoys full US support, of trying to drag the region into a full-scale war to impose control over Arab nations and eliminate the Palestinian cause.
The PLO's executive body also mourned martyr Sayyed Nasrallah and the civilians killed in the Israeli aggression, urging an end to the Israeli wars of genocide on the Palestinian and Lebanese people.
Ali Khamenei: Fate of region will be shaped by Resistance
Iranian Leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei says that the massacre of innocent people in Lebanon has revealed both the brutal nature of the "aggressive Zionist regime and the shortsightedness of its leaders."
Iranian Leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei urged Muslims to “stand by the people of Lebanon and the proud Hezbollah with whatever means they have and assist them in confronting the… wicked regime [of Israel].”
[Ali Khamenei (L) with Hassan Nassrallah]
In a statement following an escalation of Israeli attacks on Lebanon, Sayyed Khamenei declared, “The fate of this region will be determined by the forces of resistance, with Hezbollah at the forefront.”
The Iranian leader stated that the massacre of innocent people in Lebanon has revealed both the brutal nature of the "aggressive Zionist regime and the shortsightedness of its leaders."
He emphasized that "the terrorist group governing the Zionist entity" has failed to learn from their year-long violent campaign in Gaza and does not understand that the mass killings of women, children, and civilians will not undermine or dismantle the strong foundation of the Resistance.
Now, they are repeating this misguided approach in Lebanon, as per the Iranian leader.
"The Zionist criminals must know that they are far too insignificant to cause any significant harm to the strong structure of the Lebanese Hezbollah", Sayyed Khamenei stressed.
He emphasized that the people of Lebanon remember a time when the military forces of the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) reached Beirut, only to be met with Resistance from Hezbollah, which restored dignity and pride to the nation.
The Iranian leader asserted that empowered by divine strength, Lebanon will once again force the aggressive and cowardly enemy to regret their actions.
"Today as well, with the power and might of Allah, Lebanon will make the aggressive, evil, and cowardly enemy regret its actions. It is incumbent upon all Muslims to stand with their capabilities beside the people of Lebanon and the victorious Hezbollah and assist them in confronting this usurping, unjust, and evil regime," he said.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza released the latest casualty toll amid the ongoing Israeli genocide, which has been ongoing for the 358th day.
According to the Ministry, the Israeli occupation committed four massacres against families in the Strip, killing 52 Palestinians and injuring 118 in the past 48 hours.
With these casualties, the death toll has now reached 41,586 martyrs and 96,210 wounded since October 7, 2023.
Occupation bombs Al-Maghazi, Al-Nuseirat in central Gaza, casualties reported
Israeli occupation forces continued their genocide in Gaza for the 358th day, launching dozens of air raids and artillery strikes, and committing massacres against civilians amid a catastrophic humanitarian disaster as a result of the Israeli siege.
In the past hours, Israeli shelling concentrated on the Al-Maghazi and Nuseirat refugee camps in central Gaza, while shelling residential buildings in the region.
Sources in the Gaza Strip reported that Civil Defense crews were able to recover the bodies of two martyrs and a number of wounded due to the shelling of a house in Nuseirat as the IOF demolished residential buildings in Meghrafa.
Al Mayadeen’s correspondent reported that Israeli quadcopters opened fire on Palestinians east of al-Maghazi, central Gaza. Moreover, a Palestinian civilian was killed by Israeli shelling targeting the road between Al-Maghazi and al-Bureij refugee camps.
The occupation also shelled the Great Mosque near al-Nuseirat Camp.
Another Palestinian was killed by Israeli occupation shelling that targeted Salah al-Din Street, opposite Nuseirat Camp, while Israeli aircraft launched an attack on Al-Zeitoun neighborhood southeast of Gaza City, and bombed the southern regions of Al-Sira neighborhood, south of the city.
In the south of the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation targeted the Al-Manara neighborhood, south of Khan Younis.
Hamas urges ICRC to clarify fate of 1000s of abducted Palestinians
The Islamic Resistance Movement - Hamas said that the latest outrageous delivery of the bodies of 88 martyrs to the Gaza Strip by Israeli occupation forces is a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law.
Bodies of martyrs were found decomposing in a container transported by a truck to the Gaza Strip on Thursday, showcasing the brutal criminality of the Israeli regime.
As Hamas' Media Office pointed out, no documents or information was sent with the bodies, which were already decomposing, making their identification extremely difficult.
Hamas said that the bodies were tacked in trucks "in a manner that violates their sanctity."
"It (the Israeli action) also infringes upon the right of the martyrs' families to identify their loved ones and bury them with dignity, as well as the right of the families of the missing to know the fate of their children," the statement added.
The Palestinian Resistance movement renewed its call to the international community and humanitarian organizations, specifically the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), to condemn the Israeli regime's repeated criminal acts.
"We urge them to act to stop its ongoing violations against the Palestinian people in Gaza," Hamas said.
The movement also urged international organizations to mobilize in order to reveal the fate of the thousands of Palestinian abductees in Israeli prisons, adding that these people "are subjected to the most heinous acts of sadistic torture, abuse, and systematic killing."
