Day 384 of genocide in Gaza: 42,847 martyrs, 100,544 injuries
The relentless Israeli aggression on the northern Gaza Strip has forced Civil Defense crews to halt operations, further exacerbating the situation across the area.
During the last 24 hours, the Israeli occupation committed four massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, killing 55 people and injuring 132 others, the Gaza Health Ministry confirmed on Thursday.
As of October 24, which marks the 384th day of the war, the Israeli occupation has killed 42,847 Palestinians and injured 100,544 since the start of its war on Gaza, according to the ministry's latest tally.
Thousands remain either buried under the rubble or unaccounted for, due to the Israeli aggression and the inability of Civil Defense teams to reach them. This is a result of the systematic destruction of their resources, equipment, and civilian infrastructure leading to bombarded locations across the region and even the killing of their personnel.
Israeli massacres central, southern Gaza
Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that 17 people were killed and 42 others injured, the majority of whom were children and elderly, in an Israeli bombardment that struck al-Shuhada School, which is currently sheltering displaced people in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.
Our correspondent reported that Israeli artillery shelling and drone strikes also targeted the eastern section of the al-Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip.
In the northern Gaza Strip, the occupation bombed the al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, while continuing its siege and intensive aggression on the area for the 20th consecutive day.
Israeli army besieged Jabalia for the 20th consecutive day
Al Mayadeen's correspondent in northern Gaza reported that occupation forces opened fire from helicopters on the Jabalia camp, resulting in injuries among several civilians in the area. Meanwhile, Israeli artillery and drones targeted the streets of the Beit Lahia project.
According to our correspondent, displaced individuals were also injured in Jabalia al-Nazla due to an Israeli bombardment that targeted them.
The occupation forces continued their raids on homes in the northern Gaza Strip, targeting them with machine guns, artillery, and drone strikes. They also attacked shelters while blocking the entry of humanitarian aid, forcing families to flee the area.
Following the famine in the northern Gaza Strip, our correspondent reported a similar situation in the central and southern regions, highlighting the ongoing Israeli blockade and the depletion of all goods, including flour.
Israeli army prevents civil defense from working
Meanwhile, Gaza's Civil Defense announced a complete suspension of its services in northern Gaza, highlighting that Israeli occupation forces detained five of its members in the Sheikh Zayed area and abducted them to an unknown location. Additionally, the occupation has detained at least 200 Palestinians from Jabalia camp.
The Civil Defense stated that its operations had completely halted in the northern governorate due to the disastrous situation, leaving citizens in the North without any humanitarian services.
In this context, the Civil Defense announced that its crews were directly targeted on Wednesday in the Beit Lahia Project area. This attack is seen as part of an Israeli strategy to empty northern areas from citizens and to obstruct all efforts to secure humanitarian or medical assistance.
Israeli drones were hovering over the area where Civil Defense and medical services teams were stationed in the Beit Lahia Project, demanding that they vacate their vehicles immediately and proceed to the Indonesian Hospital. The occupation army is stationed there and only allows passage after thorough inspection and search.
The statement noted that as the crews attempted to evacuate the area, an Israeli aircraft fired a missile directly at them, injuring three members with various wounds. Additionally, the only fire truck providing services in the northern areas was targeted with artillery shells.

Hezbollah pummels Nahariya with rockets, destroys Merkava tanks
The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon continues confronting the Israeli occupation across various axes, bombarding Israeli sites while thwarting attempts to invade the South.
The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon - Hezbollah - barraged the Israeli occupation, in occupied territories and at the Lebanese-Palestinian border, with hundreds of rockets, while confronting its troops trying to invade Lebanese territories, in defense of Lebanon and its people, as well as in support of Gaza and its Resistance.
On Thursday, Hezbollah kickstarted its operations with a rocket salvo targeted at the Zevulun military-industrial base, located north of occupied Haifa, before launching a large rocket barrage at occupied Safad, only 30 minutes later.
Within its "Khaybar" series of operations, and under the call of "Labbayk ya Nasrallah" [here we respond to your call, O Nasrallah], the Islamic Resistance announced that its fighters bombarded the Nahariya settlement with a "very large" barrage of rockets.
At dawn, Hezbollah's Resistance fighters directly confronted Israeli occupation forces trying to infiltrate Lebanese territories, specifically in Aita al-Shaab, located directly at Lebanon's southern border. Consequently, Hezbollah launched a guided missile straight at an Israeli Merkava tank, setting it ablaze and causing casualties and injuries among its crew.
Hezbollah also targeted Israeli soldier gatherings across al-Manara and Misgav Am, both of which are fortified military sites on the border. The Resistance also targeted Kiryat Shmona with a salvo of rockets.
Operations Overview
1- Islamic Resistance fighters bombarded the Zevulun military-industrial base, north of Haifa, with a rocket salvo at 10:30 am.

Tough incident in Nahariya
The Israeli occupation military reported around 50 rockets in the latest barrage launched from Lebanon toward Nahariya. Israeli police also recorded several rockets landing in the settlement and western al-Jalil, resulting in damage to vehicles.
Israeli media confirmed that one of the rockets fired by Hezbollah at the Nahariya area directly struck a house in the Netiv Hashayara settlement.
A fire broke out inside the Herbert Samuel Hotel in al-Jalil due to the impact of a rocket launched from Lebanon. Consequently, amid the rocket attack, police urged settlers in both areas to stay close to shelters and avoid approaching rocket impact sites.
The Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya also treated four injuries from the recent shelling in western al-Jalil, while the Magen David Adom emergency service confirmed that three Israelis were injured, two of whom were reported to be in critical condition, as a result.
Commenting on the rocket fire launched by Hezbollah today, Israeli media coined it a "tough incident" in Nahariya, noting that sirens were blasting frantically in the North, particularly in the area and its surrounding settlements.
Sirens were also blaring in Edmit, Ya'ara, Dovev, and al-Malikiyah, as well as in Rosh Pina, Safad, and their vicinity, followed by alerts in Misgav Am in the al-Jalil panhandle, Akka, Shavei Tzion, and then again in Nahariya.
Israeli media also confirmed the detection of rockets crashing in the vicinity of Haifa, along with rockets falling into the sea near Haifa without triggering warning alerts.
Meanwhile, the head of the local council for Hatzor HaGalilit (near Rosh Pina and Safad) confirmed that rockets made an impact in the area, as well as damage and power outages.
'Israel' switches up to defensive positions
The Israeli occupation forces confirmed the killing of four soldiers in ground battles along the southern Lebanon border on Wednesday. Several other injuries were also transferred to hospitals.
Today, Al Mayadeen’s correspondent in southern Lebanon reported smoke rising in the border town of Rab Thalathin, which witnessed confrontations between the Resistance and the occupation forces.
Our correspondent also noted the presence of Israeli military formations from the village of Ghajar to the occupied Shebaa Farms, emphasizing that these formations are now in a defensive position rather than an offensive one due to the heavy fire from Hezbollah.

Despite Israeli strikes, Hezbollah hitting back: WSJ
A report published in The Wall Street Journal highlights that despite heavy Israeli strikes and the assassination of its commanders, Hezbollah demonstrated its ability to regroup quickly under pressure.
Hezbollah's attacks, despite being weakened by the series of blows that killed a generation of its senior leaders and destroyed some of its weapons, are still capable of turning the most aggressive decades-long conflict in Lebanon into a lengthy war of attrition against "Israel", The Wall Street Journal highlighted.
According to the newspaper, "though weakened", Hezbollah is still fighting back, with its escalating reactions risking an extended war.
It further stressed that Hezbollah is resisting and ambushing Israeli forces in Lebanon, while launching drone and missile attacks deep in occupied territories.
In this context, the WSJ emphasized that while Hezbollah's year-long attacks against occupied territories, which came in support of the Palestinians, allegedly did not inflict heavy damages or cause casualties, they still managed to displace thousands of settlers from the occupied north and drained Israeli resources as the occupation scurries and spends more to intercept them.
Elsewhere, the newspaper viewed that the Israeli military's incursion into South Lebanon was supposed to force Hezbollah to halt its attacks, however, it only increased their severity.
Hezbollah's drone-missile capacity
The newspaper discussed the drone attack carried out by Hezbollah on the residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Caesarea, located more than 40 miles from the Lebanese border, noting that this was the second time in a week that the group has demonstrated its ability to breach Israeli air defenses using drones.
It highlighted a video released by Hezbollah last Monday, showing the bombing of a group of Israeli soldiers in the village of Ramia in southern Lebanon. The report stated that "the video, filmed from the rocket itself, shows the use of guided anti-tank missiles by the group, which were among its deadliest weapons during the last war with "Israel" in 2006.
The article mentioned that Hezbollah's rocket fire has increased, with 200 rockets and shells launched each day over the weekend and 140 on Tuesday, according to the Israeli occupation military, while in previous weeks the average was only a few dozen per day.
It claimed, however, that Hezbollah's rocket launches are still fewer than what Israeli officials expected in the event of a full-scale war, indicating a "decline in the group's capabilities."
Nevertheless, Hezbollah demonstrated its ability to regroup quickly under pressure, according to the WSJ, which cited military analysts stating that the Lebanese group's units have trained to operate with a certain degree of independence. This makes it easier for them to continue fighting even when senior leaders are martyred and internal communications are disrupted.
Hezbollah kills 70+ Israeli soldiers and destroys 28 tanks in Lebanon
On Wednesday evening, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon's operations room issued a field summary of the ground confrontations between Hezbollah fighters and Israeli occupation forces in southern Lebanon, at the border with occupied Palestine. It highlighted the achievements of Hezbollah's missile force, air force, and air defense forces.
The operations room report confirmed the continued resistance to the Israeli aggression on Lebanon, inflicting heavy losses on the Israeli occupation forces in terms of personnel and equipment across the five axes of confrontation, extending from Lebanon's border towns into occupied Palestine.
According to the Resistance's assessment, Israeli losses include more than 70 dead and 600 injured among Israeli occupation officers and soldiers, along with the destruction of 28 Merkava tanks, four military bulldozers, an armored vehicle, and a troop carrier. Additionally, three Hermes 450 drones and one Hermes 900 drone were downed.
This tally does not include the losses sustained by the occupation forces at bases, military sites, and barracks in northern and deeper areas of occupied Palestine, as noted by the Islamic Resistance operations room in Lebanon.
Regarding ground confrontations, the operations room emphasized that Israeli occupation forces have been unable to control or occupy any village along the frontlines fully.
The report outlined recent ground confrontations, highlighting several failed attempts by Israeli forces to advance toward villages on the frontlines in an effort to capture and control them.

The Unending Struggle from Emir Abdelkader to Yahya Sinwar
Selçuk Türkyılmaz
After the news of Yahya Sinwar's martyrdom spread, the U.S. president, presidential candidates, and secretary of state made back-to-back statements expressing their joy. However, Yahya Sinwar was one of the legitimately elected leaders of a political party, according to the very system they established. Hamas participated in elections in Gaza and won at the ballot box. Neither the U.S., the U.K., nor Israel accepted Hamas' victory. This was a significant indicator. It was clear they harbored deep animosity toward the Palestinian people, offering them no choice but to surrender and submit. Yet, even that was never truly an option. Palestinians were left with no alternative but to leave Gaza and the West Bank. This lack of options is something we should attribute to the U.K. and the U.S., as the concept of a "Jewish state" in Palestine was fundamentally an Anglo-Saxon project from the very beginning. The jubilant reactions of the Americans after Yahya Sinwar’s martyrdom further confirm this. They were quicker than the Israelis to show just how involved they were in today’s conflict. And the British are no different from them.
We will, of course, delve deeper into what this jubilation means and who expressed it. This also applies to those who are deeply saddened by his death. But understanding the struggle of figures like Yahya Sinwar is probably even more important. The “Palestinian Cause,” as an idea, has endured for a century in the face of the expansionist ideologies of the Anglo-Saxons and Zionist Jews. Each generation of Palestinians not only developed new ways to fight but also produced great leaders to carry forward that struggle. From the foundational leaders like Haj Amin al-Husseini and Izz ad-Din al-Qassam, the Palestinian cause has produced powerful figures who inspire new ideas through their resistance. Yahya Sinwar, who is also the author of the book "Thorns and Roses," is one such figure. His martyrdom will undoubtedly leave a deep sense of emptiness and isolation among those devoted to the same cause. However, there is no doubt that this will only be temporary. The Palestinian cause has lasted for over a century, and Palestinians have always found new leaders to guide them through the toughest of times.
The Americans’ uncontrolled displays of joy have made us reconsider our thoughts on Yahya Sinwar and Hamas. From what I can gather, like the Israelis, they are unwilling to face the fear of defeat that lurks within them. Zionist Jews, in an effort to suppress this fear, completely shattered the "Jewish" image they had spent over a hundred years building in just one year after October 7. This has even surprised Turkish writers who, since the 1990s, have been vocal about their attachment to the literature built around the concepts of "Masada" and "Never Again." What has collapsed is not just the "Jewish" image but the entire Anglo-Saxon system. It seems that the Americans are also gripped by a serious fear. After all, Gaza may be one of the world’s smallest battlefields, but it has produced giants.
Of course, we cannot attribute the enormous changes that have occurred over the past year solely to Yahya Sinwar. In fact, the resistance is not limited to Hamas alone. Today, all Palestinians, as one nation, are collectively falling as martyrs for the homeland they are willing to die for. Therefore, it would be unfair to credit the changes of the past year to just one individual. But if we fail to acknowledge this great warrior’s contribution, we would be turning our backs on our historical responsibilities. Moreover, Yahya Sinwar, as a historical figure, has become synonymous with the Palestinian people and taken on the role of representing the Palestinian cause. However, it is clear that this is not enough. The fact that his enemies see him as representing an entire region is evident from their barely concealed cries of joy. So, how should we understand and evaluate the martyrdom of Yahya Sinwar?
There could be many different answers to this question, but in my opinion, he has already taken his place among historical figures like Abdelkader al-Jazairi, Emir Abdelkrim, and Omar Mukhtar. These unparalleled figures in Algerian, Moroccan, and Libyan history gave their lives defending the regions of the Mediterranean settled by Muslims. Now, Sinwar has joined their ranks. Palestinians and those living in the heart of the Islamic world will draw great lessons from the life of this great warrior.
For us, reading and reflecting on his book Thorns and Roses is a duty.
