Israel agrees to Lebanon ceasefireset to start at 10 am
The ceasefire agreement with Lebanon is set to take effect on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at 10 AM, as reported by Israeli Channel 12.
The Israeli security cabinet will agree this evening on a truce deal with Lebanon, said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday, shortly after the occupation military launched a series of unprecedented heavy airstrikes that targeted several areas across Lebanon, including central Beirut.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent said that the Israeli occupation government announced its approval of a ceasefire agreement with Lebanon.
In a pre-recorded video address, Netanyahu claimed that "with the full understanding with the US, we are maintaining full freedom of action" against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
"If Hezbollah violates the agreement and tries to rearm, we will attack," he vowed.
The Israeli premier, attempting to maintain an image of victory despite multiple criticisms leveled by officials against the ceasefire, pointed out that "the duration of the ceasefire depends on what takes place in Lebanon," adding that "the war will not end until we achieve all our goals, until we return the residents of the north safely home."
Netanyahu outlined three reasons for agreeing to the ceasefire at this time. First, he indicated that the truce would allow "Israel" to "focus on the Iranian threat."
Second, he highlighted the importance of providing rest for troops and replenishing weapon supplies, admitting that "there were delays, and big delays, in weapons shipments," without directly referencing the Biden administration.
The Israeli premier said that the "delay will soon be released," hinting at the return of Donald Trump to the White House.
He added that the third reason is to isolate the Palestinian Resistance group Hamas, which would enable "Israel" to retrieve the captives held in Gaza.
More than a year has gone by since the beginning of the war on Gaza and "Israel" has still not succeeded in retrieving the captives by force, as the Palestinian Resistance continued to highlight that they would only be returned through a ceasefire agreement.
Ceasefire to take effect on Wednesday
The agreement is set to take effect on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at 10 AM, as reported by the Israeli Channel 12.
Israeli media highlighted details of the agreement, stating that it includes a commitment that "Israel" will not undertake any military action against Lebanon and will gradually withdraw its forces from south of the "Blue Line" in Lebanon over a period of up to 60 days.
Additionally, the agreement stipulates that both Lebanon and "Israel" will adhere to United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, according to Israeli media.
In a related context, the Israeli Channel 12 reported that the ceasefire agreement lacks explicit language granting "Israel" the freedom to attack Hezbollah if it allegedly violates the terms of the truce in areas north of Lebanon’s Litani River.
Instead, the agreement specifies that "Israel" must report such violations to a US-led international body overseeing the deal, which will then assess the severity of the breach.
'No deal with Hezbollah will erase the abandonments': Lapid
On his part, Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid criticized the Netanyahu government’s handling of the ceasefire, accusing it of being “dragged into the agreement with Hezbollah” after more than a year of war.
“Meanwhile, northern communities were destroyed, the lives of the residents were destroyed, the army has been worn down while you’re advancing evasion laws,” Lapid indicated in a statement, referring to legislation to exempt ultra-Orthodox Jews from mandatory military service.
He said that "Israel's" assassination of Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and intense strikes on Beirut's Southern Suburb are “operational successes worthy of all praise, but the October 7 government did not know how to turn them into a diplomatic win.”
“Under Netanyahu’s watch, the greatest disaster happened in our history, no deal with Hezbollah will erase the abandonments. No statement to the press will change history,” Lapid stressed.

Hezbollah ambushes Israeli force, strikes multiple targets in Tel Aviv
Hezbollah conducted 18 rocket attacks and 5 drone attacks against Israeli targets on Wednesday, as a ceasefire approached
The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon - Hezbollah announced a total of 27 operations, on Tuesday, conducted by its fighters against Israeli occupation forces. These announcements come as the Israeli regime agrees to a US-backed ceasefire proposal, which is scheduled to take effect at 4:00 am (local time), on Wednesday.
In a statement, Hezbollah's Military Media Unit said that Resistance fighters had attacked "a sensitive military target", on November 18, revealing the details of a long-range drone attack.
The Resistance's Unmanned Air Force launched a swarm of its upper-echelon one-way attack drones at the residence of the Israeli Air Force's commander General Tomer Bar in Tel Aviv. The operation achieved its "goals precisely," the Military Unit stated, adding that the Israeli military censor has restricted the flow of information regarding the incident.
In another development, Hezbollah revealed that on Monday, at 11:30 pm, Resistance fighters fired a salvo of precision-guided rockets at the Israeli infantry training camp in Shavei Tzion, south of the city settlement of Nahariya, marking the first-ever attack against the Israeli base.
Direct confrontations
On Monday, Resistance fighters had also ambushed a withdrawing Israeli force, destroying an Israeli military-grade bulldozer and a Merkava tank and causing casualties among the infantry forces it accompanied.
In detail, Hezbollah fighters monitored an Israeli force withdrawing from the town of Ebl al-Saqi through the city of Khiam, setting up a lethal ambush on the same route, which was executed at 5:00 pm.
Two large improvised explosive devices (IEDs) took out a bulldozer and accompanying infantry forces at the ambush site, causing significant damage. Additionally, the Resistance launched an anti-tank-guided missile (ATGM), striking an Israeli Merkava tank within the same convoy.
Hezbollah said that both the bulldozer and the tank were destroyed and their crew members were killed and injured while confirming that casualties were observed among the infantry force.
On Tuesday, and in the same axis of confrontations, Hezbollah fighters destroyed an Israeli Merkava tank stationed near the Khiam Municipality, via an ATGM. The attack was conducted at 11:45 am, leaving the tank's crew members killed or injured.
Khaibar Series of Operations
As for the Resistance "Khaibar" operations, conducted under the call sign "At your service Nasrallah", Hezbollah fighters launched swarms of one-way attack drones toward Tel Aviv, targeting a number of highly-sensitive military targets in the metropolis and its suburbs.
Drone attacks
Hezbollah's Unmanned Air Force also conducted a series of operations targeting Israeli military sites in various occupied areas.
- At 7:20 am, a swarm of drones was launched at the Ma'le Golani base, in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.
- At 7:20 am, a swarm of drones was launched at the Habochit military site, strategically positioned atop Hermon Mountain.
- At 5:20 pm, a swarm of drones was launched at the Shraga base north of the occupied city of Akka.
- At 5:20 pm, a swarm of drones was launched at a grouping of Israeli occupation troops in the Kiryat Shmona city settlement.
All four operations dealt precise hits to the intended targets.
Rocket attacks
Hezbollah also conducted 18 rocket attacks, either as fire support to fighters on the frontlines or targeting Israeli-occupied cities, settlements, and military sites. The attacks were distributed as follows:
- At 10:15 am, a salvo of precision-guided rockets was fired at the Kiryat Shmona city settlement.
- At 11:30 am, a salvo of rockets was fired at an assembly point of Israeli occupation forces in the Manara settlement.
- At 11:30 am, a salvo of rockets was fired at an assembly point of Israeli occupation forces in the Avivim settlement.
- At 2:20 pm, a second salvo of rockets was fired at an assembly point of Israeli occupation forces in the Manara settlement.
- At 2:30 pm, a salvo of rockets was fired at the Katsrin settlement in the occupied Syrian Golan.
- At 2:40 pm, a salvo of rockets was fired at the Nafah base, the headquarters of the 210th Division, in the occupied Syrian Golan.
- At 2:45 pm, a third salvo of rockets was fired at an assembly point of Israeli occupation forces in the Manara settlement.
- At 4:30 pm, a salvo of rockets was fired at an assembly point of Israeli occupation forces in the Zar'it settlement.
- At 4:30 pm, a salvo of rockets was fired at an assembly point of Israeli occupation forces in the Shomera settlement.
- At 4:30 pm, a salvo of rockets was fired at the Ma'alot-Tarshiha settlement.

Day 417 of Israeli genocide in Gaza: 44,249 killed, 104,746 injured
Northern Gaza is reeling from a surge in violence as Israeli attacks inflict mounting civilian injuries and casualties.
"Israel" continues its war of genocide against the Gaza Strip, now ongoing for the 417th day, with the Gaza Health Ministry announcing that in 24 hours, the Israeli military committed three massacres, killing 14 and injuring 108 others, with many victims still trapped under rubble or out of reach due to Israeli bombardment.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation has killed 44,249 Palestinians and injured 104,746 others, the Ministry confirmed Monday in its daily report.
The Israeli genocide continues unabated
The northern Gaza Strip is facing an escalating humanitarian crisis, with conditions described as "catastrophic". In the Jabalia refugee camp, invading Israeli forces have destroyed entire residential blocks amid relentless artillery barrages targeting Beit Lahia and surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, in the al-Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City, heavy artillery strikes on the Musallabah area have resulted in significant destruction and left multiple civilians injured.
In further detail, Northern Gaza is reeling from a surge in violence as Israeli attacks inflict mounting civilian injuries and casualties. Al-Awda Hospital in Tal al-Zaatar has reported receiving four injured individuals following Israeli aggression on Beit Lahia.
In Jabalia town, Israeli airstrikes have reportedly caused additional civilian injuries, further exacerbating the region's humanitarian crisis.
Meanwhile, a devastating Israeli strike near a bakery in northern Gaza City has resulted in multiple casualties, with both fatalities and injuries reported.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent also reported that one was martyred and another was injured as a result of an Israeli targeting of a group of Palestinians in the Saftawi neighborhood, northwest of Gaza City.
Martyrs and injuries were reported as a result of the occupation aircraft bombing a group of citizens on Baghdad Street in the al-Shuja'iyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City.
Later, our correspondent confirmed that several were martyred and others were wounded as a result of the occupation aircraft bombing Al-Hurriya School, which shelters displaced people in the al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City
Civil Defense in Gaza: Operations come to a halt
On its part, the Civil Defense in Gaza has announced a complete cessation of operations, including firefighting, rescue, and ambulance services, due to the ongoing Israeli blockade on diesel fuel essential for powering emergency vehicles.
Officials have issued a grave warning, stating that the lack of fuel effectively sentences civilians to death as Israeli bombardments continue to ignite fires and destroy homes. Without functional emergency services, residents face extreme danger and limited means of survival amid escalating assaults on residential areas.
The Civil Defense is urgently appealing for immediate international and Arab humanitarian intervention to address the fuel crisis and safeguard Gaza’s defenseless population from further harm.
A year of Israeli massacres in Gaza: Families erased, generations shattered
The Ministry of Health in Gaza has released devastating statistics outlining the relentless toll of Israeli attacks over the past year. Entire families have been wiped out in unprecedented massacres.
The scale of destruction in Gaza has been catastrophic, with 7,160 massacres resulting in the extermination of 5,444 family members. In total, 1,410 families were completely wiped out, leaving no survivors, while 3,463 families were reduced to a single survivor, with 7,934 members killed.
Additionally, 2,287 families with multiple survivors lost a staggering 9,577 members. Israeli airstrikes disproportionately targeted families, with 5,879 families losing 2–4 members and 1,281 families losing more than 5 members.
Among the hardest hit, the top five families to be decimated include the al-Najjar family, with 520 members killed, followed by the al-Masri family, which lost 287 members, the Ashour family with 217 killed, the Hijazi family, which saw 199 members killed, and the Awad family, with 198 members lost.
The Ministry described the toll as not merely statistics but evidence of entire generations obliterated, leaving a profound humanitarian and psychological scar on Gaza’s society.

Hezbollah fire causes widespread destruction in northern Israel
Israeli media report on extensive damage in northern settlements due to Hezbollah fire, with over 8,800 houses, 7,000 vehicles, and around 300 agricultural sites destroyed.
Israeli media, citing the Israeli Tax Authority, reported significant damage in the northern settlements of Manara, Shtula, Kiryat Shmona, Zar'it, Nahariya, and Shlomi.
The revelations come despite "Israel" imposing strict military censorship to cover up and conceal the damage and losses suffered in the north, as Hezbollah continues to fire dozens of missiles and drones daily.
The Tax Authority also indicated that there is extensive, unreported damage elsewhere in the region, due to the fact that the settlers have been evacuated or because the injuries are in areas that cannot be entered based on the Israeli army's instructions.
According to the authority, Hezbollah fire has completely damaged 9,000 buildings and over 7,000 vehicles in these northern settlements.
Meanwhile, Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth confirmed that the destruction in Kiryat Shmona is extensive, with repairs to the damaged schools alone expected to take four months.
The newspaper also noted that in the border towns with Lebanon, nearly every building has been damaged, with most houses requiring either repairs or demolition.
In a related context, over 8,800 homes have been reportedly destroyed in northern "Israel", along with more than 7,000 vehicles and approximately 300 agricultural sites damaged.
David Azoulay, the head of the settlement council in Metulla, reported that 70% of the homes in Metulla have been destroyed, with the rehabilitation process expected to take at least two years.
Moreover, an expert revealed to the newspaper that Hezbollah's focus on targeting security and military industries facilities caused many of them to close and forced the Israeli military to evacuate barracks and bases. Elbit, Rafael, and other factories came under direct hits by Hezbollah drones, so they were closed and their operations were transferred to new secret centers in central "Israel". This shift caused the termination of about 200, knowing that they usually accommodate more than 650 workers and employees.
This comes shortly after Israeli media reports indicated that the total damages in northern settlements have surpassed 5 billion shekels, equivalent to more than $1.3 billion.
Northern Israeli settlements chiefs: Truce gives Hezbollah upper hand
As speculation grows about a possible ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, fueled by media reports and cautious remarks from officials in Beirut, voices of dissent are growing within the Israeli occupation, particularly from northern settlement chiefs.
Many are labeling the potential deal as an Israeli "surrender agreement" to Hezbollah.
David Azoulay, the head of the settlement council in Metulla, located in the al-Jalil Panhandle, described the situation as "a heartbreaking settlement" and a "surrender" by the Israeli government to Hezbollah.
Azulay further stated, "As long as there is no real security here, we will not return."
In addition, Azulay reported that 70% of the homes in Metulla have been destroyed, with the rehabilitation process expected to take at least two years.
He has lately dismissed claims that the Israeli occupation had achieved its war objectives, calling such statements "lies". He asked, "Why is the most right-wing government in Israeli history heading toward a surrender agreement with Hezbollah?"
Similarly, Avichai Stern, mayor of Kiryat Shmona, considered a possible deal as Israelis, not Hezbollah, "raising the white flag."
Speaking to Channel 13, he expressed concern that such an agreement could lead to a repeat of the October 7 scenario in northern occupied Palestine. He urged Israeli leaders to avoid putting settlers in the north at risk, warning that they could become "the next hostages." Stern added, "I don't understand how we've gone from total victory to total surrender."
Eitan Davidi, head of Margaliot, said, “I want to live in peace," which requires, according to him, creating a buffer zone between the northern settlements and Lebanon, two to four kilometers long, “with no entry or exit from it."
Yossi Hadad, head of the regional council of Mateh Asher in western al-Jalil, cautioned that signing the agreement could result in a stronger Hezbollah in the coming years, saying, "We will pay in blood for this."
Benny Ben Muvhar, leader of the Mevo'ot HaHermon regional council, declared that settlers would not return to the north under such an agreement, which undermines one of the war's stated objectives.
'Settlers cannot return safely'
Moshe Davidovich, chair of the Frontline Settlements Forum along the border with Lebanon, criticized the Israeli government for making decisions "over our heads." He argued, "We cannot return to the north safely under such a deal. We want to live in safety, and the government has failed to provide that."
In comments to Israeli Channel 12, Davidovitch described the impact of Hezbollah's operations on northern settlements, saying, "The roads are destroyed, and the war has devastated livelihoods, the economy, tourism, and agriculture."
Eli Dokursky, mayor of Kiryat Bialik near Haifa, echoed this frustration, expressing the settlers' sense of abandonment. He said, "I hope the hardships we endured over the past two months, with Haifa facing heavy fire, weren't for nothing."
Israeli media has also been critical, with Channel 12 referring to the agreement as a "shield for Hezbollah," while Colonel (Res.) Gabi Siboni conceded that Hezbollah's presence and infrastructure, even south of the Litani River, would remain intact and that "no one will dismantle it."
These criticisms reflect widespread dissatisfaction among settlers and military experts who feel betrayed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's declaration of "total victory". Many have directly accused him of abandoning northern communities, stating, "You've left us with empty promises. The blood of Israelis in the north will be on your hands."
Israeli strikes kill over 30 in Lebanon’s capital as carnage continues
Israel's military operations in Lebanon have intensified, killing at least 31 civilians over the last 24 hours amid international efforts to reach a ceasefire.
Israeli attacks also wounded 62 people across the country on Monday, according to the country’s Health Ministry.
Israel’s military struck the areas of Tayr Harfa and Chamaa on Tuesday morning, with video footage showing plumes of smoke rising above Beirut’s southern suburbs.
Moreover, the Israeli forces have issued forced displacement orders for several neighborhoods in southern Beirut, which it plans to target soon, ordering nearby residents to flee immediately.
In a pair of posts on X, Avichay Adraee, Israel's Arabic-language spokesperson, shared a map highlighting several buildings in the southern Beirut neighborhoods of Borj El Brajneh and Tahouitet al-Ghadir, which he labeled as potential targets.
Over the weekend, Israel's airstrikes killed at least 29 civilians in central Beirut and dozens more across various Lebanese cities, raising concerns about the increasing civilian toll in the region.
In response to Israel's aerial bombardment, Hezbollah unleashed one of its largest rocket attacks to date, firing approximately 250 missiles into northern Israeli occupied territories on Sunday.
Hezbollah characterized this barrage as retaliation for the Israeli strikes, which have raised alarms about a rapidly deteriorating situation.
The death toll from Israeli attacks on Lebanon since October 8, 2023 has climbed to 3,768, with the number of injuries rising to 15,699, according to Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health.
The surge in violence comes as reports say the Israeli regime is preparing to approve a 60-day ceasefire with Lebanon.
US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said the talks were progressing but not yet finalized, noting, "We believe we've reached this point where we're close."
Efforts are focused on restoring a ceasefire based on UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which ended the last major war between Hezbollah and Israel in 2006.
The draft ceasefire agreement includes a 60-day transition period during which the Israeli military would withdraw from southern Lebanon, the Lebanese army would deploy in areas close to the border and Hezbollah resistance fighters would move north of the Litani River.
Nov. 25: ‘Axis of Resistance’ operations against Israeli occupation
Amid Israel's genocidal war on Gaza, which has killed nearly 44,250 Palestinians so far, as well as the ongoing genocide in Lebanon, resistance groups in Palestine and across the region continue their operations against the Tel Aviv regime.
The major operations carried out by the Palestinian and regional resistance groups, including Hezbollah, on Sunday, November 25, are as follows:
Al-Qassam Brigades' operations on Nov. 25:
Four Pakistan security forces killed as capital stormed by ex-PM Imran Khan supporters
At least four security forces have been killed as thousands of supporters of jailed former prime minister Imran Khan flood the Pakistani capital and breach government-imposed lockdown demanding his release.
The government had imposed an internet shutdown, blocked major highways, and deployed thousands of police and paramilitary forces in the capital Islamabad to prevent pro-khan rallies, however, supporters of the ex-PM on Tuesday afternoon filled the streets and breached the lockdown.
Armed with sticks and slingshots, more than 10,000 pro-Khan protesters clashed with police in central Islamabad, less than three kilometers from the government sector they aim to occupy.
According to the military-backed government led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, protesters killed at least four security forces during the confrontation between the two sides that soon turned violent.
Khan, who has been charged in more than 150 criminal cases, was barred from standing for the February elections that were marred by allegations of rigging. The 72-year-old star cricketer turned politician, who served as prime minister from 2018 to 2022, has frequently denounced the charges as designed to block his comeback.
The former prime minister’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party has defied the current crackdown and called for regular rallies, among which, Tuesday's is the largest in Islamabad since he was imprisoned back in August last year.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said "miscreants" involved in the protest rally had killed four members of the paramilitary Rangers force on a city highway leading toward the government enclave.
Separately, Sharif said that the victims had been “run over by a vehicle.”
“These disruptive elements do not seek revolution but bloodshed. This is not a peaceful protest, it is extremism,” the prime minister said in a statement.
Islamabad has been under lockdown since late Saturday, with over 20,000 police officers, many equipped with riot shields and batons, patrolling the streets.
The government, which announced a two-month ban on public gatherings last week, says the protesters are attempting to derail a state visit by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, who arrived for a three-day official visit on Monday.
“We are deeply frustrated with the government. They do not know how to function. The treatment we are receiving is unjust and cruel,” a protester said.
