Day 467 of Israeli genocide in Gaza: 46,707 killed, 110,012 injured
The brutal Israeli war on the Gaza Strip continues, massacring Palestinians and leaving a trail of lifeless bodies across the entire enclave.
The Gaza Health Ministry announced in its daily report that 62 Palestinians were killed and 253 others were injured as the IOF committed six massacres across the Strip over the past 24 hours.
This raises the death toll to 46,707 Palestinians killed and 110,012 injured since October 7, 2023.
Since the early hours of Wednesday, 26 Palestinians were killed, 17 of whom in central and southern Gaza, as the Israeli occupation's genocidal war persists for the 467th day.
According to Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Gaza, five Palestinians were injured, one critically, after an Israeli drone strike targeted a group of people in the western area of Kaf Mawarej in Rafah, southern Gaza.
Five others were killed, including a woman, and four were injured when the Israeli occupation bombarded a home in the al-Nasr neighborhood in northern Rafah. Additionally, an Israeli drone strike killed two Palestinians in Khirbet al-Aadas in Rafah.
In Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, 11 Palestinians were killed and others were injured, most of whom critically, in an Israeli airstrike on a home in al-Baraka street, while two others were martyred in a strike on another house.
Seven citizens were martyred, and others were injured in an Israeli airstrike targeting a house south of Nuseirat in the central Gaza Strip. Additionally, a man and his wife were killed, and others were injured following an airstrike on a house in the al-Bureij refugee camp.
In Gaza City, seven citizens were martyred, and others were injured in an airstrike targeting al-Farabi School, which shelters displaced people on al-Yarmouk Street.
Similarly, an airstrike on al-Ahli Club, which also houses displaced people in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza City, resulted in the martyrdom and injury of several citizens.
Over a million Gaza children suffering mental health crisis: UNICEF
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has raised the alarm over the mental health crisis affecting nearly all 1.1 million children in the Gaza Strip as a result of the ongoing Israeli war in the blockaded territory.
In a report released Sunday, UNICEF revealed that Gaza’s children are grappling with nightmares, severe anxiety, and paralyzing fear caused by the relentless Israeli bombardments, the loss of family members, and the worsening humanitarian crisis.
The report also noted that at least 19,000 Palestinian children have been orphaned since the war started in October 2023. Mental health experts warn that the profound psychological effects of the war on these children could linger for generations.
This comes shortly after a recent study uncovered the harrowing impact of "Israel's" war on Gaza’s children, revealing that an overwhelming 96% feel their death is imminent, and nearly half wish for it as an escape from their trauma.
With symptoms ranging from nightmares to aggression, the psychological toll is unimaginable. Experts warn that the ongoing Israeli atrocities risk shaping a future defined by deep-rooted psychological scars.
Israel kills 62 Palestinians in Gaza amid ceasefire deal
As mediators worked in Qatar to hammer out a ceasefire deal, Israeli forces killed at least 62 Palestinians in their latest attacks across Gaza.
According to reports coming out of Gaza on Wednesday, two reporters are among the victims.
Gaza civil defense agency said in a statement that 11 bodies were brought to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza after the Israeli forces struck a family home in Deir al-Balah during the night. A seven-year-old boy and three teenagers were among the dead.
According to the agency, another strike hit a school building used as shelter for displaced Palestinians in Gaza City. The attack killed seven people and injured several others.
A third strike at dawn hit a house in the Al-Nuseirat refugee camp. It killed six people and injured seven, the agency said.
A fourth strike targeted the Shati camp in Gaza City and killed three people, the agency added.
The Israeli regime confirmed that its forces had carried out several attacks overnight in Gaza. In the past 24 hours, the occupying forces truck more than 50 targets across Gaza, the regime said.
The regime also issued new evacuation calls in Arabic for the northern refugee camp of Jabalia. It warned the refugees to move to southern Gaza City.
Jabalia and its surrounding areas have been the target of intense Israeli attacks since October 2023. Thousands of residents have been displaced.
In addition to a barrage of Israeli strikes in the previous months, the Palestinians who have remained in the area face severe shortages of food, water, medical equipment and shelter.

Israel hits HTS military target in Syria for 1st time since fall of Assad
Israel has reportedly carried out a deadly airstrike on a military target belonging to the HTS administration in Syria for the first time since the foreign-backed militant group took over the Arab country and unseated President Bashar al-Assad.
The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Wednesday that an Israeli drone hit an HTS military convoy in the southwestern province of Quneitra.
“An Israeli drone launched an attack targeting a military convoy... killing two members of the Military Operations Department” and one civilian, in southern Syria's Quneitra region, it said.
“This is the first Israeli strike targeting the security forces of the new authorities” in post-Assad Syria, said Rami Abdel Rahman, who heads the UK-based war monitor.
Separately, AFP cited an unnamed medical official that a local official from the Ghadir al-Bustan area was among the three killed in the Israeli airstrike.
Foreign-backed militants, led by HTS, took control of Damascus on December 8 and declared an end to Assad’s rule in a surprise offensive that was launched from their stronghold in northwestern Syria, reaching the capital in less than two weeks.
Following the collapse of the Syrian government, the Israeli military launched massive airstrikes for weeks against military installations, facilities, and arsenals belonging to Syria's now-defunct army.
The occupying regime has drawn widespread condemnation for violating Syria’s sovereignty and devastating assets that belonged to the Arab nation, which were essential for confronting any foreign acts of aggression, including those perpetrated by Israel.
In the wake of the fall of Assad, Israel, which has occupied the Syrian Golan Heights since 1967, also invaded a UN-patrolled buffer zone in southwestern Syria, taking over the Syrian side of Mount Hermon as well as a number of Syrian towns and villages.
Although the United States has already removed the long-standing $10 million bounty on the HTS leader, Abu Mohammad al-Julani, following a high-level US delegation meeting with him, his group is still on the US’s list of foreign terrorist organizations.
