Hamas postpones captive handover due to Israeli breaches: Abu Obeida

The spokesperson for the al-Qassam Brigades announces the postponement of the captive handover until "Israel' complies with the terms of the ceasefire agreement.

The Hamas Resistance movement announced that the captive exchange set for February 15 has been postponed until further notice, due to the ongoing Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement

The spokesperson for the Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, announced in a statement that the Hamas leadership has been monitoring "Israel's" violations of the ceasefire agreement over the past three weeks. These include prohibiting the return of Palestinians to the northern district, targeting them across the Strip, and disallowing relief aid entries as per the agreed-upon conditions

Hamas, on the other hand, has fully adhered to the requirements of the agreement. As a result, the date of the handover of Israeli captives, initially scheduled for February 15, has been postponed indefinitely, until the Israeli occupation complies and compensates for the past weeks' entitlements.

Abu Obeida affirmed that the Palestinian Resistance will remain fully committed to the ceasefire's terms.

Hamas says Israel plotting to derail Gaza ceasefire deal

Earlier today, a senior Palestinian official told Al Mayadeen that the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas believes "Israel" is actively working to derail the ceasefire agreement

The official stated that Israeli statements regarding the second phase of the deal signal an unwillingness to commit to a lasting ceasefire.

Moreover, Hamas, as per the official, sees "Israel" as relying heavily on US President Donald Trump's reckless decisions to justify its policies and actions in the next phase.

Hamas says that if "Israel" does not adhere to the second phase of the agreement, it will pay a heavy price, the Palestinian official underscored.

Trump says Palestinians won’t have ‘right of return’ to Gaza under his plan

US President Donald Trump has admitted that the proposed plan to relocate the people of the Gaza Strip will include taking away their “right of return” to their homeland.

At a joint press conference on February 4, Trump, who was hosting the Israeli regime’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington, DC, first revealed that he aimed to take over Gaza, possibly through intervention by US troops, and rebuild it.

Trump said in the first half of an interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier on Sunday that when he takes the helm in Gaza he will build “beautiful communities” in it, designing and building the “Riviera” of West Asia.

In the second half broadcast on Monday, Trump said he would “own” the enclave.

“I would own it,” he said, adding that there could be as many as six different sites for Palestinians to live outside of the Gaza Strip.

When he was asked by Baier whether the Palestinians would have the right to return to Gaza, Trump replied, “No.”

“No, they wouldn't, because they're going to have much better housing. In other words, I'm talking about building a permanent place for them because if they have to return now, it’ll be years before you could ever – it’s not habitable.”

Trump's remark is contrary to United Nations General Assembly Resolution 194, which defines principles for reaching a final “peace” settlement that includes the Palestinian refugees’ “right to return to their homeland.”

In the meantime, Trump's plan to relocate the Gazans has been receiving widespread criticism.

Washington’s European allies, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Egypt have all rejected Trump’s plot, reiterating calls for the so-called two-state solution.

However, the resistance movement Hamas has decided to stick with the slogan of Martyr Ismael Haniyeh. Until his martyrdom in 2024, Haniyeh had believed in the non-recognition of the Israeli regime.

Morocco signs deal with notorious Israel’s Elbit to buy arms

Morocco has reportedly inked a contract with Israel’s Elbit Systems to buy self-propelled artillery systems that are marketed as “battle-tested” by the notorious weapons manufacturer.Morocco uses Israeli drones

The French newspaper La Tribune reported on Saturday that the deal, which entails the purchase of 36 Atmos 2000 (Autonomous Truck Mounted howitzer System), comes amid disputes with France’s KNDS, Morocco’s previous main arms supplier.

Tensions rose between the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces and KNDS following technical failures in the French company’s Caesar artillery systems, which rendered several of them non-operational for Morocco.

With this new agreement, Israel has become Morocco’s third-largest weapons supplier, accounting for 11 percent of its total arms imports, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).

Elbit Systems supplies the Israeli occupation forces with drones, munitions, combat vehicles, missiles, and various other types of weaponry.

The company markets the majority of its arms as “battle-tested,” meaning they have been used in bloody attacks against the Palestinian people.

Last March, Elbit said its revenue boosted by higher ammunition sales to Israel for its genocidal war on Gaza.

The notorious company supplied hundreds of products to Israel's war ministry, including drones, artillery, munitions and electronic warfare systems.

Morocco signed a US-brokered normalization agreement with the Tel Aviv regime in 2020, drawing condemnations from Moroccans and Palestinians who slammed the pact as a stab in the back of the Palestinian cause.

As part of the deal, the US agreed to recognize Morocco’s claim over the disputed Western Sahara region, where the Algeria-backed Polisario Front seeks to establish an independent state there.

Morocco’s new partnership with Elbit Systems strengthens the Arab country’s military as it fights the Polisario Front.

Iranians mark 46th anniversary of Islamic Revolutio
n with nationwide marches, celebrations

In a display of national unity and unwavering revolutionary spirit, millions of Iranians from all walks of life have taken to the streets across the country to commemorate the 46th anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.Iranian celebrations

The various commemoration events and celebrations, which were held on Monday, were imbued with fervor and patriotic zeal, showcasing the deep-rooted allegiance of the Iranian people to the values and principles that shaped the Islamic Republic following the Revolution’s victory.

From the sprawling metropolis of Tehran to the remotest villages, citizens participated in mass marches, carrying banners, waving the national flag, and chanting slogans echoing the indelible legacy of the Revolution that overthrew the United States-backed tyrannical Pahlavi monarchy.

The waves of demonstrators converged on iconic spots, such as the capital’s Azadi Square and Enqelab Square, filling the air with resounding chants of “Death to America” and “Death to Israel,” reiterating Iran’s steadfast opposition to foreign interference, imperialist hegemony, and Western-backed occupation and aggression.

Senior officials, including President Masoud Pezeshkian as well as military and religious figures, are slated to address the nation on the occasion that marks drawn-out religious fervor and struggle on the part of Iranians against the Pahlavi regime under the guidance of the revered late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini.

The addresses are expected to underscore, among other things, the country’s unwavering support for oppressed nations, particularly the peoples of Palestine, Yemen, and Lebanon, in line with the Revolution’s overall anti-imperialist vision.

Across various cities, students, religious scholars, and families of martyrs, who gave their lives towards enabling the Revolution’s victory or its preservation, paid homage to the sacrifices that were made in defense of the development, while reaffirming their unshakable commitment to Imam Khomeini’s ideals.

Observers say the victory of the Revolution on February 11, 1979 marked the dawn of a new era in Iran’s history, one that dismantled decades of Western-backed deadly oppression and replaced it with a ruling structure rooted in Islamic principles and popular sovereignty.

They say the Revolution remains a beacon of defiance against global arrogance, serving as an inspiration to oppressed nations worldwide.

They also underline the development’s enduring significance that has been witnessed by the Islamic Republic's successful defeating of decades of US-led conspiracies aimed at undermining its sovereignty following the Revolution’s victory.

The Islamic Republic, however, has continued to thrive in the face of the persistent attempts aimed at undermining the Revolution or stifling Iran’s progress, which have included economic sanctions, psychological warfare and an eight-year heavily-Western-supported war by Iraq.
